"There are tragedies big and small in Correll’s novel. People die; opportunities vanish; old friends argue. But the effective, overarching themes are love and perseverance. Annie and Beulah head the strong, complex cast. Correll displays a talent for evoking all the little details that make this town come alive..." “Guarded is a moving, deeply felt novel of love and rebuilding and the way letters can bridge generations and continents both. This multi-layered tale of mystery and family and finding love when it seems on the brink of being lost forever is a fitting sequel to Grounded, and Angela Correll has proven yet again she's a storyteller of the first order. Read this book!” “Correll’s debut novel is nothing less than Southern comfort food for the soul. Brimming with love for the land and the grace of second chances, Grounded is a must-read for anyone who yearns for a slower, simpler, more connected life.” |
